The Tide is Turning - Better Late Than Never, I Guess

Eddie Izzard, the cross dressing comedian, has a routine about wartime Britain and the late, but welcome entry of the United States into World War II. He muses about how the British had nothing left but ice cream trucks to throw at the Germans, and finally, along comes John Wayne and the U.S. Cavalry.

"Where the $%#@! have you been?", he imagines the survivors of the London Blitz saying.

I came across this article the other day, about how young, faith-based voters concerned with social justice are now becoming more active in the political arena. Not only are they voting, but they are voting Democratic, and are less concerned about wedge issues like abortion and gay marriage.

These are times when I get a glimpse of how those Londoners must have felt. Where were you guys when the Religious Right took over? Where were you guys the past 2 presidential elections? Nevertheless, I am glad you are here.
